Decentralized mapping project Bee Maps raises $32 million in funding, led by Pantera Capital and others
ChainCatcher reported that the decentralized mapping project Bee Maps (technically supported by Hivemapper) has announced the completion of a new $32 million funding round, led by Pantera Capital, LDA Capital, Borderless Capital, and Ajna Capital.
Bee Maps is an application running on the Hivemapper network. Hivemapper is one of the world's largest decentralized physical infrastructure networks based on Solana, focusing on map data construction. Hivemapper allows drivers to contribute data through AI-enabled dashcams, which can detect road changes in real time (such as new road signs, detours, construction zones, etc.), ensuring that digital maps can be updated quickly and remain accurate. Bee Maps leverages this infrastructure to incentivize users to upload street-level image data, rewarding them with its native token HONEY.
