CNBC: US Lifts Export Restrictions on Chip Software to China
Foresight News reports, according to CNBC, that U.S. chip software manufacturer Synopsys has announced the U.S. government has lifted export restrictions on chip design software to China. Its competitor Cadence also confirmed this policy change and stated that it is "restoring affected customers' access to our software and technology."
Previously, on May 23, the United States informed several chip design software companies that they would need to obtain a license before exporting software and semiconductor chemicals and related products to China.
