Economist: Trade Deal with the US Will Not Provide Significant Economic Boost to the UK
Capital Economics economist Paul Dales said that a trade agreement with the United States would not significantly stimulate UK economic growth. On Thursday, Trump stated that the US had reached a framework agreement with the UK, which would include reducing tariffs on UK steel and automobiles in exchange for the UK purchasing Boeing products and allowing more access for US farmers to the UK. However, the agreement is limited, and compared to other economies, the UK will not be greatly affected by Trump's tariffs. (Jin10)
