Trump says bond market is ‘beautiful’
Trump said Wednesday that he is keeping a close eye on the bond market as he decides to suspend reciprocal tariffs. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said, "The bond market is beautiful right now. I saw people a little bit upset last night." The bond market turned upside down immediately after Trump announced the tariffs were being postponed. Long-term bond yields had been spiking due to widespread concerns about the impact of the tariffs, but have now fallen.
