El Salvador president will not finance the 2025 budget by issuing debt
Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele has revealed part of his plan aimed at boosting El Salvador's economy, one of the biggest goals set forth in his second term. In a speech commemorating the country's independence, Bukele said that next year's budget will be self-financing and that no debt will be issued to keep the government running. Nayib Bukele said that El Salvador would not even pay the interest on its debt by issuing more debt during this period, emphasizing that all payments would be made using self-financing funds.
