U.S. SEC maintains uncertainty about ETH attributes, while CFTC considers ETH attributes to be commodities
At Thursday's budget hearing, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler, when asked directly if ETH is a commodity, Gensler did not answer yes or no, instead sticking to the agency's uncertain stance on the asset, CoinDesk reports. At the same hearing, when asked if it was a commodity, Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chairman Rostin Behnam replied, "Yes."
In previous news , the chairman of the U.S. SEC said it expects the S1 application for the Ether ETF to be approved sometime in the summer.
